Submission of a grant proposal demonstrated the ease of the process. During my time as a Nursing Professional Development Specialist, I was able to work closely with several grant sponsors to ensure all criteria for funding were met and satisfied all expectations. I worked with grant sponsors including the Texas Workforce Commission, Department of Labor (DOL), and private philanthropists. I was involved in grant funded programs that included a Patient Care Technician paid internship, a Patient Care Technician certification program, Dallas Works, and Oak Cliff Empowered. I was responsible for completing grant reviews and submitting required metrics to meet the requirements of the grant.
Lead efforts in professional organizations to develop policy and standards for nursing and healthcare practices.

To sustain the culture of Patient Experience excellence, we created Patient Experience skills competencies that were to be completed by front-line team members annually in conjunction with their clinical ongoing competencies.

As Policy Administrator, I was responsible for cross-walking all suggested edits and/or new policies with CMS, TJC, Texas Administrative Code, and other regulatory bodies or standards of practice organizations to ensure alignment. After committee approval, I edited all policy documents and ensured standardization with system policies.

I worked as a content creator and subject matter expert as I recorded and submitted educational videos for the Certified Emergency Nurses (CEN) certification exam. I was able to cover a variety of sections on the CEN exam including acute coronary syndrome, aneurysms and dissections, cardiopulmonary arrest, dysrhythmias, heart failure, aspiration, and asthma.

I have disseminated findings in a variety of avenues including article publication through Texas Health Resources' Research, Innovation, and New Knowledge (RINK) council, submission of Executive Summaries and SBARs through HCA's leadership pipeline to advocate for nursing leaders, poster presentations regarding High Reliability Organization tools and tactics, news article internal publication, and external roadshow presentations on customer service program.
